Kara Garcia

Kara has been dancing for 14 years and has danced for Momentum Dance Academy and Hart Academy of Dance. She has danced competitively since the age of 8 and has consistently placed within the top ten at multiple regional competitions for her solos, as well as being a part of multiple national award winning teams. She continued her passion for dance throughout all 4 years on Sonora High School’s Dance Production team. Kara later became one of the captains for the varsity team her senior year, where she found her love for teaching. She is trained in many styles of dance such as jazz, contemporary, lyrical, musical theatre, hip hop, modern, tap, and ballet. In addition to her studio training classes, Kara has taken many master classes from choreographers like Shannon Mather, Ashley Gonzales, Mark Meismer, Ade Obayomi, Alexander Chung, Mark Kanemura, Melissa Sandvig, Whitney Bezzant Robinson, Mark Goodman, and Dee Caspary. Kara is also a student at Cal State San Marcos where she is majoring in biology and working toward her bachelors degree. She began assisting and teaching at JDI during this past season 16. Kara is very passionate about the training of her dancers and always encourages them to be the best dancer and person they can be!
